As part of Marcel Digital's commitment to giving back, on September 29th, our team volunteered at Project C.U.R.E.’s warehouse in Woodridge, IL. Our team helped in the first phase of sorting thousands of items that had been donated from across the country, ensuring those items that made it to the next phase of sorting and packing had not passed its expiry date. We then sorted all of the items that had been checked into their respective grouping bins.
Seeing the size of the warehouse and the sheer volume of supplies that this organization is working to process and get to those that need them was genuinely impressive, and a little daunting. Each container takes ~800 hours of volunteering to process, pack and ship, and whilst our team made a small dent in that number, it very much brought home to us the scale of the work they are doing. We were happy to help in whatever way we could and I think the team came away with a wonderful understanding of Project C.U.R.E.’s purpose and would love to find ways to continue our involvement.
