On August 8, Marcel employees got to visit the Anti-Cruelty Society’s River North facility and learn about their meaningful work in helping animals rehabilitate and find homes. Their mission is to build a community of caring by helping pets and educating people. In fact, a big part of this philanthropy outing involved education. We learned that they strive to provide compassionate care for any animal in need and attempt to find a home for every healthy or rehabilitatable dog and cat. They also play a part in intervention to prevent cruelty to animals and foster community education on animal issues to inspire compassion and respect. Finally, Anti-Cruelty offers low or no cost spaying and neutering to incentivize responsible pet ownership.
Our facilitator gave us a full overview and background of the organization while also introducing us to a few of the animals in their care (shoutout to Ginger, Pinto, and Sherbert). It was an excellent run through of all of their services and it informed us of the many ways to get further involved, whether it be fostering, adopting, or fundraising!
